Today we are holding a  workshop for children to help them to understand a strand in the exhibition on animal species identification, and the Books and Beasts Project. Linking the animal to the book  is a big stretch for some!

DNA codes and colours

On one table bracelets have been made with various coloured beads, each sequence representing a section of DNA. By reading the codes animals are spelt out and then found on the table.

On the next table children will translate their own names into DNA sequences and create bracelets from those sequences.
