Not Winter in Winterthur

A great day for itA track to Delaware Another early start takes us to the Winterthur. Founded by Henry Francis du Pont, Winterthur (pronounced “winter-tour”) is the premier museum of American decorative arts, reflecting both early America and the du Pont family’s life here. Its 60-acre naturalistic garden is among the country’s best, and its research library serves scholars from around the world. We presented to both staff and students of the conservation and science departments and then had a tour of the facilities. Chela Metzger chaired the session and leads the book conservation training there. A project of a pice of contemporary art containing cuttlefish, egg ( including yolk) and reed. A real challenge for any conservator!
On our way to lunch after a quick skim of the soup terrine and Downtown Abbey exhibitions
